Sorry for the blackout there. Net problems mixed with two product launches at work in one week, and a weekend at the folks’ place enjoying fine food and free friends put a serious crimp in the schedule.

We have a nor-easter pounding away at the windows today. Nor-easter is a standard term for “a big honkin storm that makes the subways all confused”. I’m enjoying this rainy day much more than the last one, thanks to a delightful Jack, recovering from yet another flu. Last I looked he was putting his hat on and grinning cheek to cheek.

I think I’m liking this new format, though it’s hard to tell what I like today. It’s one of those overcast afternoons that doesn’t inspire one to read or snuggle up with a movie. Rather, it’s the kind of overcast day that takes the sheen off of a new car. Dour ilk and sour milk and all that. Maybe it’s the work week ahead (or the one behind) but I won’t be whistling my way to positivity best I can tell. Maybe a hot chocolate mug and some Jack-time will make the blues go away. Jack and gloom don’t go well together, after all.

03/25/2007 – Okay, the experiment continues. The first week with the new format was a little rough, but not awful. There are some formatting problems, making the solution not ideal, but acceptable if you close your eyes and plug your nose. And spontaneously fall asleep on your keyboard. I’m gonna give it a couple more strips and then Robin and I will regroup and see if we just want to revamp the old site. Welcome to my experiment folks! No one gets out of here without some primary-colored dings!

3/18/2007 So what do you think of this format? It’s a big departure from the old site I’ve been running for 6 years, but it has some bells and whistles to it. Just leave your comments in the comments section below if you’d like. A heads-up to the uninitiated — everyone will see what you write. Don’t worry, I won’t take offense if you’re not into the new design. I’m just screwing around with ideas.

02/11/07 I think my PC is on its last legs. That always makes me feel conflicted. On one hand, it means I get to buy a brand new computer (or build one from scratch again!) That oh-so-fresh-feeling that can only come from a new machine is a great, great thing. On the other hand, $$$. And back to the other hand again — isn’t a new PC exactly what $$$ is for? Here we are back on the other hand — this is exactly what money was for before Jack was born. Now $$$ is for formula and diapers and onesies and cribs and car seats and Nintendo Wiis. What? It is!

02/04/07 Nineteen degrees outside. One degree for each hour of sleep I’ve gotten this year. Coincidence?

01/28/07 Well, I THOUGHT we’d have a normal week, but alas 2007 had other plans for us. After a bout of the stomach flu we’re all experiencing the first day with no illness around here. I’m hoping that January will, in the final analysis, prove to be a character-builder — but I’ve been whining so much I think that theory can be tossed out the window.

01/21/07 Now that everything is back to normal around here, we’re back up to 4 hours of sleep and .8 meals per day. Robin’s anti-biotics have finally kicked in, Jack is eating trhe dining room table which provides his teeth great relief and the cashier at CVS isn’t pressing charges after all. Here’s to another normal week!
